Our 2008 lambs started arriving on March 28 with Netta pasture lambing overnight, unassisted. That in itself (pasture lambing unassisted) is not so unusual, but, what is unusual is that she had triplets unassisted.

Netta and her three lambs, sired by our Festus. Netta is such a great mother. Since Netta lambed unassisted overnight, these lambs are probably about 12 to 18 hours old in this picture.

Netta's triplets, just hours old. From left to right they are: gray mouflon horned ewe, gray horned ram, and black mouflon horned ram.

This is Pinkie 's first lambing. And, she did well delivering this sturdy little ram. She had this gray mouflon horned ram unassisted in the pasture. Pinkie was mated with Festus.

Kitty pasture lambed twins unassisted. Here she is half asleep a few hours later with her snoozing white horned ewe lamb. This lamb's sire is Matt.

Oksana had twins this year. I found her first thing in the morning of April 8 in the pasture. She had her lambs overnight and was grazing with her two new lambs when I discovered she had lambed. They were clean and dry following her around that morning as this photo shows. The white one is a horned ewe and the gray lamb is a horned ram. These two lambs were sired by Matt.

Sally had this unique brown-gray (technically moorit gray) ram lamb in the pasture. It was the afternoon of April 8 and I took this photo with the lamb maybe an hour old. I wasn't sure if Sally was finished or not. But she was up grazing with her new prize tagging along. That evening when I gave the ewes there hay, I saw she had another second lamb with her, shown next. Sally's lambs were sired by Festus.

It was too dark and late to get a picture of Sally's second lamb the day he was born. This photo was taken the next morning of April 9 when she brought her brood with her to the hay feeder. This chocolate-brown (solid moorit) lamb is a horned ram.

Merry Florene had twin ewe lambs unassisted. This photo was taken an hour or two after lambing. Both ewe lambs are categorized as gray although as you see one is mostly white with black socks. Merry was mated with Festus this fall.
