Our 2007 lambs started arriving on March 27 with Netta pasture lambing overnight, unassisted. She did not show up at the hay feeder so I went out in the pasture to look around. Her lambs were already bouncing around enjoying the unseasonably warm and sunny day.

Netta and her twin black mouflon rams, sired by our Chester. Netta is such a docile, friendly ewe -- and a great mother too. Since Netta lambed unassisted overnight, these lambs are probably about 12 to 18 hours old in this picture. One weighs in at 10 pounds and the other is 12 pounds.

Netta's twins, shown here, are taking a tour of a wooded section of their pasture (less than 1 day old.)

At 5 days old, here is a close-up of Netta's twins exploring the woods.

Both lanes of the dairy-queen are open.
Kitty had twins a couple days after Netta. Here, Kitty is shown with her 2 day old white ewe lamb and gray ram lamb. The ewe lamb, born first, weighed 10 pounds and the ram lamb born an hour later weighed 9 pounds. These lambs were sired by our ram Matt.
Here is a close-up of Kitty's gorgeous white ewe lamb with pink rabbit-like ears. Sorry, this lamb is a keeper (not for sale.)

Kitty's gray ram lamb wants to try something other than mom's milk and had to find out what the tree branch tasted like.

I guess Mom's milk tastes better.
At 10 days old, Netta's twins here are tasting hay and getting to know the girl next door (Kitty's ewe lamb.) They don't seem to mind the unusually cold April temperatures in the 20's and no, the white specks on the black lamb's backs are not dandruff. That's snow.
It's fun just to watch the lamb antics. Here, Kitty's ewe lamb (8 days old) jumps on her brother's back -- who doesn't seem to mind too much.
Not to be outdone, Oksana had triplets (one died during birth) on April 5. Yes, that white stuff is snow on the ground. Shown here is Oksana's white spotted ewe lamb and black mouflon ram lamb at 1 day old. These lambs were sired by our ram Matt.
"Where's Mom?!" Oksana's 1 day old ram lamb doesn't want mom to get too far away.
One little baby "baaa" brings mom back to the rescue.
Oksana takes her 1 day old lambs on the trail to the pasture.

Susannah had a single gray mouflon ram lamb on April 10. He looks just like his sire, our Matthew, did when he was a lamb. This guy weighed in at a whopping 11 pounds. He is shown here at one day old.

Susannah shows her 1 day old lamb the way out to green pastures.

In the wee hours of the morning of April 23, Merry Florene had a ewe lamb, totally unassisted. Merry is just 11 months old herself. This lamb's sire is our Festus. This vigorous lamb is a few hours old in this photo.

Here is a close-up of Merry's gorgeous, Black/gray, sugar-lipped ewe lamb.

In the right foreground of this photo is Merry's newborn lamb. On the left is "Sad" Sally. Why is Sally sad? Because as of April 23 she is the only ewe without a lamb. But, she won't have to be sad for long. She is due to lamb any time now.
